Senate Moves To Establish Local Government Electoral Commission.
A Bill seeking to establish a federal agency for the conduct of local government elections on Thursday, July18, scaled first reading in the Senate.
The bill is titled, “Local Government Independent Electoral Commission (Establishment) Bill, 2024 (SB. 531)”
The bill was sponsored by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Sani Musa, ( APC, Niger East)
After the passage this would take away the power of the State Electoral Commission whose the ruling party always hijack for their individual nefarious act.
