MESSAGE:

When you’re baptised in the Holy Spirit, it might seem like nothing has changed about you, but the reality is, you have become very dangerous to the enemy and his cohorts. In (2 Kings 1:9-12), Elijah was not looking dangerous; he had no weapon in his hands and was not wearing a warrior’s attire. However, the captains and soldiers that were sent to arrest him never lived to tell the story. You may look the same to your enemies, but the moment you are baptised with the Holy Ghost and fire, if they try to touch you, they will be consumed.

To become dangerous to your enemies, ensure that you carry the fire of God inside you in great measure. For over 13 years, I never went to my village because witches and wizards had threatened to deal with me. I became born again, and not long after I was baptised with the Holy Spirit and fire, I received an invitation to attend a programme in the village. When I told my mother about the invitation, she begged me not to go. I told her that I now carry fire and anyone who touches me will roast. She said, “But you don’t look any different; you are the same Adejare that I know.” I replied, “The naked wire looks the same whether electricity is passing through it or not. However, touching it while electricity is passing through it is a suicide attempt.” I went to the village, and no witch dared to touch me. Today, I announce my arrival beforehand so they can hide before I arrive.

In Nigeria, after drinking a bottle of Coke, we sometimes use the empty bottle as a container for kerosene. Once the bottle has become a kerosene container, you dare not put it in your mouth again. The devil knows that once you start carrying fire, he has to step carefully around you. If he has been tormenting you, the way to get him off your shoulder is to carry the fire of God. Pray so often that the fire of God starts boiling inside you. Become addicted to praying in the Holy Ghost. As you do this, the fire of God will burn inside you, and you will become dangerous for the devil to attack. Any yoke he had previously placed on you will break completely, and you will be free from his hold. When you have the fire of God burning in your bones, you will become a threat to the devil and his demons. Are you ready to carry God’s fire?

Kolapo Alimi: when lying has become a nature

Mr Kolapo Alimi needs no elaborate introduction in Osun State politics: he is the vexatious nuisance who goes around with the title of the Commissioner for information and Public Enlightenment in the state. Of the commissioners who have bestriden the information ministry, the loquacious Alimi is, no doubt, the negative exemption for he combines steeped incompetence with penchant for lie development.

The rabble rouser was again at his element last Sunday when he featured on a political programme on Diamond 88.5 FM Ilesa where he was confronted by the interviewer with details of the unpleasant assessment of the government of Ademola Adeleke published by a notable transparency advocacy group, BudgIT.

On page 16 of the group's fiscal transparency assessment done for the first quarter of 2024, here is what is said about Osun State.

1. Its Medium-Term Expenditure Framework document was not scored because it didn't meet the group's metrics.
2. The citizens' budget was not timely published.
3. The proposed budget (2024) was not found online.
4. Budget Implementation Report was not comprehensive.
5. The e-procurement portal lacked up to date documents.

The summary of the assessment is that the government of Osun is being run like a secret cult. But rather than keeping his mouth shut since the discourse was above his knowledge, the lying machine in his unflattering characteristics went gaga to vindicate the mediocre government he speaks for, claiming the state government was rated over 80% (excellent) by the advocacy group. A lie that a chronic imbecile should not have attempted to tell for it would be punctured with hard facts.

While the radio presenter struggled not to call Alimi a big liar, that he actually is, on air, he nevertheless stuck to his gun about the BudgIT revelation.

The revelation is a re-echo of the stance of the opposition party in the state as to the level of transparency in conduct of government business which they claim has gone on exile since November 27, 2022 when Senator Ademola Adeleke became the governor.

These days in Osun, there is hardly any public project that is not enmeshed in controversy. If the government are not accused of awarding multiple billion naira road contracts to cyber cafe operators, fertilizer distributors and real estate agents, the handlers will be everywhere defending allegation of how the signage and advertisement revenue of the state nose-dived from N21million in 2022 to N9m in 2023 as reported in the 2023 audited Financial Statements of Osun State published few days ago.

Tongues are still wagging on why the government of Adeleke would invest N979million on purchase of Satellite, or whatever it is called, at a time citizens were hungry and demanding for projects that would have direct impacts on their well-being. Was the project to line the pockets of state actors? Satelite to do what, where is its location, are the questions Osun compatriots have been asking since the disclosure was brought to fore.

For those who may not know, the implication of some of this rascality is that the state's decent credit score achieved by the defunct administration of Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola would be hurt and the state be denied SFTAS and other grants meant to enhance fiscal responsibility.

Before I go, I want to restate the demand of our countrymen regarding the discrepancy in the IGR reports of Osun State. It is strange that the government claimed in its 2023 budget performance report, released earlier in the year, that it made N39.5billion in IGR but now claiming another figure, N27bilion, a whooping margin of N12billion, in the audited financial report released a couple of days ago.

What could have been responsible for this inconsistency? Is the government hiding something? Without mincing word, as it has become the culture of Kolapo Alimi and other prevaricators speaking for the administration, the government of Osun should come clean on this matter without further delay.
